How to understand the characteristics

You have noticed that the price of different models varies. The reason is not in the quality of tailoring (it is always excellent), but in the secrets of the cut and the cost of materials.  The first thing that catches the eye:

• length, including sleeves (long, medium 7/8 or shortened 3/4);
• type of silhouette (straight, fitted, trapezoid);
• type of collar. For double-breasted raincoats, choose classic ones - turn-down ("lying"), stand-up turn-down (English);
• fastener - buttons or snaps;
• additional details: pockets, belt with or without a buckle, slit, tabs on the sleeves, "shoulder straps", folding yoke.

Among the characteristics that are difficult to assess online are the composition of the raincoat fabric and the properties of the lining material. Please note that not all models have a lining. 

The upper material is a blended fabric. If cotton is indicated in the description, then a certain percentage of synthetic fibers is added to improve its properties. Then the fabric does not wrinkle, becomes more durable and elastic.

Polyester is a material made of synthetic fibers. It is lightweight, but protects well from bad weather. It is easy to care for, does not deform or fade, and is highly durable. If you do not want to update your wardrobe, you can wear one raincoat for many years.

Viscose is a material made of natural raw materials (wood pulp), obtained artificially. The fabric is soft, hygroscopic, hypoallergenic, and wear-resistant. The lining made of it holds its shape well and does not accumulate static charge.

Acetate is an artificial fabric with low thermal conductivity, does not deform, and does not require complex care.
